Developmental Soccer with Prostar

Providing programs for our younger players aged 8-10 years of age who one day aspire to play for one of our Advanced teams, & who wish to improve their skills, is an essential element in the future success of our club, teams & individual player ambitions. Therefore, in association & support of our neighboring recreational clubs in the region, where most of our children have been introduced to soccer, we have created a program to supplement our young players development without interrupting their current team commitment. This program compliments & runs parallel with their spring & fall seasons, whereby they can continue to play & have fun on their recreational teams, & at the same time they can participate in an advanced skills training course.

We invite & encourage players from all over the region, regardless of which recreational soccer club & team they play with, to participate in this course, in which they will learn new technical individual skills, be challenged against other players of similar ability & have fun becoming better soccer players.

Please see the information below regarding our CENTER OF EXCELLENCE course, & look for a training location close to you.

About the Center of Excellence Program

The Center of Excellence (COE) is a six-week program designed and crafted on the success of the elite programs of European professional clubs. COE programs have existed in many top programs in Europe for the past 30 years. Players such as David Beckham (Real Madrid & Manchester United), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Lionel Messi (Barcelona), and Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid & Manchester United) began their careers as eight year olds in similar environments. As a direct result of the consistent training that they received through such schools, now they are regarded as the world’s elite players.

The program will introduce players to the competitive game as well as its systems and positional play. It will improve their creativity and technical skills, expand their awareness about the game in different cultures, and set new standards and goals.

The training curriculum is designed in conjunction with the competitive staff-training curriculum. It is designed to compliment the future game as well as to address the immediate needs of our young players. It is a combination of technical and tactical topics with emphasis mostly on technical development of the players. The program is designed to prepare our U9 and U10 Boys and Girls for U11 Competitive Soccer here at Prostar, which we believe will be accomplished by using the following curriculum incorporating essential key topics such as:

Outline Curriculum
Improve basic & efficient level of skill in 1v1 situations. Dribbling, including shielding and taking on players 1v1. Finishing, the technical aspects of driving, placing, bending, and chipping a ball.
Passing, striking the ball with a variety of surfaces, deception, direction and the weight of a pass. Receiving, first touch, variety of surfaces, shielding and turning with the ball. Heading, introduction to basic technique. Attacking, small group combinations, movement & shape will be introduced. Defending, pressure, cover & balance, challenging 1v1.
